Weekday School

Centenary Weekday School

Centenary Weekday School is an outreach program of Centenary United Methodist Church. This program offers an educational experience that is structured to meet the developmental needs – physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual – of young children under the guidance of trained teachers.

Children are encouraged to help themselves and to think for themselves. We strive to help them begin to assume responsibility for their own behavior and to develop some inner controls. We encourage independence of thought and creativity. We share with them their sense of accomplishment for a job well done.

There are many exciting activities going on at Centenary Weekday School. We offer opportunities for the children to participate in field trips, monthly chapel time, music enrichment, Creature Teacher, Pumpkin Patch events, Fitness Flippers, visits from community resource officers as well as themed camps for the summer.

 Programs Offered:

Creepers – Monday/Wednesday/Friday

Toddlers – Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday

Two Year Olds – Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday

Three Year Olds – Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday

Four Year Olds – Monday through Thursday or Monday through Friday

Pre-K - Monday through Friday, 9:00-1:00

 (The birth date for two, three, and four year olds must be on or before August 31 of the year in which they are enrolled. The Toddlers must be at least 15 mos. old on or before August 31.  The Creepers must be at least 6 mos. old on or before August 31.)

 Class Times:

9:00 – 12:00 Monday – Friday

A late stay/lunch bunch program is offered Monday through Friday until 1:00.

Open House:

January 21, Thursday 9:30am - 11:30am

 Registration:

Preschool registration begins January 26, 2010.

Summer Sizzler Camps for 2010:

Ages 2-5 years

$68.00 per week (5% disc. when signing up for 3 consecutive camps)

Nonrefundable registration fee of $15 per family per month is due with application.

Tuition is due one week prior to camp date.

Applications for Summer Sizzler Camps are available on March 15 for currently enrolled children.

Open Registration will begin March 31.

*Inclement Weather Procedure*

When the Guilford County School System is closed due to inclement weather, Centenary Weekday School will also be closed.  When the Guilford County School System delays for 1 hour, our school will open on time.  When the Guilford County School System delays for 2 hours, we will open at 10:00am.  No separate announcement will be made.  Days missed for bad weather will not be made up.  Tuition remains the same for months in which holidays are observed and for months in which days are missed due to inclement weather.
